Hunan's China-Europe freight train runs exceed 4,500

Recently, a China-Europe train loaded with 110 standard containers of Geely finished passenger cars departed from Changsha North Station and arrived at Tongjiang Port four days later, and then headed for Moscow, the capital of Russia. So far, since the first China-Europe train was launched in Hunan in 2014, Hunan's China-Europe trains have cumulatively exceeded 4,500 trains.

Engineering machinery, daily necessities, clothing accessories, automobiles, food... As a "landmark brand" of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", the China-Europe Express has built a bridge for "mutual exchange and mutual benefit" between China and Europe. Over the past 10 years, the Guangdong Railway Group has actively responded to the "Belt and Road" initiative. With the strong support of local governments and customs, Hunan's China-Europe Express has grown from 0 to 4,500, breaking the "bottleneck" of Hunan's lack of foreign trade channels, which is not along the border or the sea.

 

The accessibility of the channel network continues to improve, and it has reached more than 30 countries and regions, connecting Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East, radiating to my country's Middle East and southern regions, further activating the production capacity advantages of Hunan, and providing more full-process logistics solutions for local enterprises, helping "Made in Hunan" go abroad and enhance international competitiveness.

 

In recent years, with the planning and construction of five major international trade channels and freight assembly centers in Hunan Province, and the construction of the Changsha China-Europe Express (Changsha) assembly center to the north, Hunan's China-Europe Express has entered a stage of high-quality development and has firmly ranked first in the country.


 

On August 1, 2023, the first scheduled China-Europe train in Tongjiang North was launched. The China-Europe Express (Changsha) Tongjiang line, which celebrated its first anniversary on August 1 this year, has operated a total of 110 China-Europe trains in the past year, with a cargo volume of 4,546 cars, accounting for 57% of the Tongjiang North shipments of all platforms in the country; among them, the outbound trains accounted for 75% of the shipments of all platforms in the country, becoming the largest and most stable shipping platform for Tongjiang North Port.

 

At the same time, the source structure has also changed significantly. The transported goods have expanded from the original export porcelain, small commodities and other categories to large manufacturing products such as cars and construction machinery suitable for container transportation. The Guangzhou Railway Group has successively carried out in-depth cooperation with large local manufacturing companies such as Zoomlion, Sany Heavy Industry, and Shanhe Intelligent to tailor exclusive loading and transportation solutions to ensure the safety of cargo transportation.

 

Since the beginning of this year, the Guangzhou Railway Group has stepped up its efforts to organize the China-Europe trains to Europe. The Changsha Railway Logistics Center has set up a "one-to-one" marketing team and a technical team to visit enterprises, customize efficient, cheap and stable transportation products based on the transportation needs of enterprises, and provide suitable box transportation solutions based on the characteristics of goods. The proportion of high value-added goods such as cars and construction machinery has gradually increased. Local large-scale manufacturing enterprises such as Sany Heavy Industry, Zoomlion Heavy Industry, and Geely Automobile have successively launched special trains, becoming a new channel for export transportation for local manufacturing enterprises.


 

At the same time, the Changsha Railway Logistics Center closely monitors the transportation organization of the China-Europe trains, strengthens coordination and linkage in the links of cargo entry, loading and unloading, and hanging, and promptly reports the train operation plan with the Guangzhou Railway Group Dispatching Office, ensuring that the flatbed empty cars needed for the trains are in place one day in advance. At the same time, further optimize the operation process, reduce the operation time, and open a green channel in accordance with the "three priorities" principle of "priority organization, priority loading and unloading, and priority inspection", ensuring that the train loading is completed one and a half hours in advance, realizing rapid and seamless connection of carriage, inspection, and transshipment, and providing transportation capacity support and timeliness guarantee for the trains.
