According to a Reuters report on August 3, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) and the British maritime security company Ambrey both confirmed that a merchant ship was attacked by missiles about 125 nautical miles east of the port of Aden, Yemen, but fortunately, the ship did not catch fire, take on water or leak oil, and has safely sailed to the next port. It is worth noting that initial reports indicated that the ship may have encountered an unknown explosive and caused a fire, but subsequent information corrected this.

GROTON (IMO: 9246310) is a container ship built in 2002, flying the Liberian flag, with a capacity of 2,500TEU. The ship is leased and operated by CMA CGM SA The French Line. The shipowner is Conbulk Shipmanagement Corp of Greece.
GROTON is operated by CMA CGM and deployed on the India Gulf Red Sea Express (BIGEX2) route in the Indian Gulf and Red Sea.

The ports of call are as follows:

The UK Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) and the British maritime security company Ambrey both stressed that no one was injured in the attack and all crew members were safe. At the same time, UKMTO further pointed out that the attacked ship was the MV GROTON mentioned in previous reports, and the incident occurred about 170 nautical miles east of Aden.
Ambrey's assessment report showed that the ship was targeted earlier in the day and experienced the threat of a close-range explosion.

On the other hand, the US Central Command announced earlier on Saturday that it had destroyed a Houthi missile and its launcher in Yemen in response to Houthi activities.
