China-Russia Arctic Route Container Liners Officially Launched
Recently, a container ship operated by China Xinxin Shipping Company set sail from the port of St. Petersburg, Russia, and will sail to China along the Arctic route.

At 13:00 local time on the 7th, a container ship operated by China Xinxin Shipping Company carrying paper, cardboard, chemicals, fertilizers and other goods set sail from the First Container Terminal of the Port of St. Petersburg, and will cross the Arctic Route and arrive at the Port of Shanghai, China, after a period of more than 20 days.
Zhou Liqun, president of the Russian Chamber of Commerce in China, said in his speech at the ceremony that today (7), the first liner has departed from St. Petersburg and will arrive at the port of China along the Arctic shipping lanes, marking the normalization of logistics and transportation between Russia and China has added a new channel, which will surely play a significant role in the development of economic and trade cooperation between Russia and China.
In order to realize the weekly operation of container freighters along the China-Russia Arctic shipping route, Xinxin Shipping has invested five high-ice class container freighters.
It is expected that the route will be able to run from July to the end of October, weather and other conditions permitting.
Xinxin Shipping is confident to make the Arctic route container liner service a high-quality service between China and Russia, and to contribute to the construction of the "Silk Road on Ice" between the two countries.
