Shipping operators say that after the cost of a 20-foot container on European routes fell below $1,000, the industry could not tolerate low freight rates and continued to cut capacity. From the latest freight rate, the European route has begun to rebound, the increase is the first of the four major routes. Not only are European routes up, but US routes are also performing strongly.

From the market feedback, shipping companies have adopted different strategies for the price increase on December 1, and some shipping companies have informed customers that the price increase will be postponed to 15. However, some shipping companies have raised their rates as scheduled. For European routes, the freight rate will increase by $400 per big box. The freight rate on the East-US route was raised by $300. However, for the west route, most shipping companies did not join this wave of price increases.

The freight forwarding industry said that the current market volume has indeed decreased, and the shipping company can only stabilize the freight rate by reducing flights and shipping space. However, given the company's revenue situation, further reduction of space has become quite difficult. The increase in freight rates on the US-East route was mainly due to restrictions on access to the Panama Canal. Some shipping companies are also trying to raise prices on West Coast routes by $50, but that may not last long.
