DHL has signed an agreement to acquire the remaining 60% of Danzas AEI Emirates from Investment Trading Group, with a commitment to guarantee the original jobs.
Danzas AEI Emirates, which has been operated and managed since 1995 through a joint venture in which the Investment and Trade Group has a 60 percent stake and DHL has a 40 percent stake, will now be integrated into DHL's Middle East and Africa business, and Danzas will also operate under the DHL brand in the future, DHL said. The full integration of Danzas will help DHL Global Forwarding further accelerate profitable growth in the UAE, GCC, Middle East and Africa regions.
At this point, Danzas, a logistics brand founded in 1815, will disappear for good! Tim Scharwath, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, said: "A close and trusting partnership with Investment Trading Group over the years has driven Danzas to success and strength. As DHL grows in the region, the integration of the two brands will create endless possibilities for customers, leading to greater efficiency and sustainability."
DHL said the integration, which is subject to approval, will enable shared managed services, synergies and "seamless collaboration". DHL added that "there will be no change for existing employees, who will become part of the DHL family." Danzas, which employs 1,200 people, owns and operates 20 branches in Dubai and the northern UAE, with major locations in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai World Central and Dubai Airport Free Zone, Al Tayer Group said. The company offers air, sea and land transport products and claims to be the market leader in the region in terms of customs clearance. Its storage capacity is more than 240,000 square meters.
Matar Humaid Al Tayer, Vice Chairman and Board member of Al Tayer Group, said: "Dubai has become an important logistics hub in recent years. As the economy of Dubai and the GCC continues to evolve, we are confident that fully integrating Danzas into the DHL service network will unlock the potential it needs to become a truly leading logistics provider in the region." We are proud to have played an important role in this success along with our partner DHL. "
