In order to enhance information transparency and strengthen science popularization education, the Municipal Services Department will launch a special webpage on "Food Safety Inspection" from tomorrow. Foreign Ministry: China will take all necessary measures to safeguard food safety and people's health.

On October 22, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin held a regular press conference. A reporter asked about the release of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan. Before the launch of the plan, China tightened import controls on Japanese food.

The Japanese government officially decided on the 22nd to start the sea discharge, will the Chinese government consider introducing new control measures?

Wang Wenbin said that the Chinese government insists that the people come first, and relevant departments will take all necessary measures to safeguard food safety and the health of the Chinese people.

Wang Wenbin stressed that we strongly urge the Japanese side to correct its wrong decision, cancel the plan to release nuclear-contaminated water to the sea, communicate with its neighbors in good faith, properly dispose of nuclear-contaminated water in a responsible manner and accept strict international supervision.
